Luang Phrabang is a city in Laos; it was formerly the capital of a kingdom of the same name and is also the name of a province of which it is the capital. The city of Luang Phrabang is in north central Laos, on the Mekong River about 425 km north of Vientiane. It has a population of about 16,000 people. Until the communist takeover in 1975, it was the "royal capital," the seat of the king of Laos. Today it is a UNESCO World heritage site.

Day 1  : Arrive Vientiane

Arrive at Vientiane airport – Visa formality – Welcome by your Laos Tourguide at airport - Transfer to hotel – Sightseeing around the downtown , Dinner with Lao folk dance - O/N in Vientiane.

Day 2  : Vientiane

Breakfast at hotel – Full day city Tour visit Hoprakeo was built in 1566 by king Setthathirat to house the Emerald Buddha, Sisaket only temple in Vientiane that has survived the destruction of the city by the Siamese (Thai) in 1828, ThatLuang Stupa Museum shrin (great Sacred Stupa) is the most important national monument in Vientiane, with golden stupa believed to contain a relic of Lord Buddha, Pratuxay Monument is situated in the center of Vientiane prefecture, its architecture is inspired the Arc de Triomphe in Paris and incorporates typical Lao motifs, See the Sunset at Mekong Riverside - O/N in Vientiane.

Day 3  : Vientiane – Xieng Khoang

Breakfast at hotel - Transfer to Domestic Airport, Fly to XiengKhouang Province – Meet your Xieng Khoang tourguide at airport - Transfer to Hotel, - Excursion by Car to Visit The Main site of Jars, ( The Mysterious Plain of Jars scattered on a hill frame slope , about 12 Kilometers  ourtside ( Phonsavan ) are over 300 giant jars of unknown origin they weight between one and six tons each and must be over 1000 years age. -  on way back , visit Phonsavanh Market - O/N in Xieng khoang.

Day 4  : Xieng Khoang – Luang Prabang

After breakfast, visit Xieng Khoang market and then excursion by road toward Luangprabang , the former Royal capital City of Laos , the crown jewel of the ancient Lane Xang Empire (pronounced ‘lane sang’) – the Land of a Million Elephants - via Phoukhoune, on the way you  will have a chance to have an overview the experience the local life style along the mountianous road through the tropical rain forest . Day 5 : Luang Prabang – Pak Ou – Ting Caves (by boat on Mekong river) – Phanom Weaving

After breakfast, begin a full day boat trip on the mighty Mekong River to visit the Pak Ou Caves with their lacquered Buddha statues. Then make a visit to the village of Ban Phanom where traditional Lao textiles are woven on ancient wooden looms. Then return to Luang Prabang ,Visit Wat Visoun, the site of impressive Thad Makmo stupa.  The rounded dome is stylistically more Sinhalese than Lao.   Phou Sii hill stands right in the center of this small city.   Climb its 350 steps to enjoy commanding views for many miles in each direction.   Wat Phu Sii sits atop the mountain, along side the skeletons of Indochina war anti-aircraft guns!  Then continue to visit Wat Mai.  Built in 1796, the five-tiered roof of the wooden Sim (chapel) emphasizes the graceful Luang Prabang architectural style.  Wat Xieng Thong is considered to emphasize & characterize the uniqueness of Luang Prabang’s local style: its several roofs sweep low to the ground.  See also the impressive "tree of life" mosaic here. The gilt panel on the exterior of the chapel depicts semi-erotic episodes from the Ramayana; Then return to your hotel.  This town is wonderful for walking, spend the rest of the day exploring or relaxing on your own.  – O/N in Luang Prabang

Day 6  : Luang Prabang – Khuangsi waterfall

Early morming 05h00 to go to the monks procession in town. You can give the monks the food (rice , fruits …). Back to hotel for Breakfast then drive with your guide by car up to the Tad Khuang Sii waterfall.  The falls cascade over many calcified tiers and down several hundred feet into a series of cool, turquoise pools. The water here has a clear blue-green tint due to the high mineral content.  You can climb the stairs and look down from various high viewpoints on the way to the top!   Enjoy a picnic lunch then return to the downtown to visit the National Museum, which was once a king's palace.  Displayed inside is a lovely collection of personal artifacts of the royal family, including photos, musical instruments, and many gifts received from the dignitaries of foreign countries and explore city at your leisure.  Luang Prabang is a wonderful walking town, and you can find dinner on your own at any number of clean & delicious international restaurants. – O/N in Luang Prabang

Day 7 : Luang Prabang Departure
